The course did not go well. Too many failed the final;
my questions fared worst. Students upset. “Aren’t you
supposed to be good at this?” Self-defense against
attack is natural, isn’t it? Mistreatment report ensues.
Anger curdles into shame. Tears release me to reflect.

Joy of teaching rediscovered through mentees’
successes.

This year goes better.
