The last time I was in this room, a patient took her last breath. I remember her hair, the flowers on the bedside table, her husband sitting in the uncomfortable chair. His sobs. Crumpled tissues. My watering eyes.
Thoughts pushed away now. Today, a new patient in this room. A new focus. A different story.
