Arriving at the Terminal

With resolute momentum the Southbound train passes.

Kirstyn E. Brownson, MD

Bio: Surgical Breast Oncologist & Assistant Professor, Department of Surgery

Kirstyn majored in English Literature and has always been thankful for this experience and its contribution to her journey as a physician. However, when she applied to medical school, some questioned this educational background in the humanities and its preparation for a career in medicine. She believes that by learning the stories of her patients she can best understand what role she is to play in their story as their doctor. Her background as an English Literature major makes her a better advocate for her patients as a surgeon.
