Literary honors include an honorable mention in the 2010 Zoetrope: All-Story Short Fiction Contest judged by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Andrew Sean Greer, and First Prize in the School of the Art Institute Writing Fellowship Competition judged by Pulitzer Prize-finalist author Lydia Millet.
