In Conversation with My Mother

“Your mother is my idol,” one of her
residents says to me.

Sommer Glasgow, MS

Bio: Study Coordinator, Division of Pediatric Critical Care, UUSOM Class of 2027

Sommer has dedicated her academic career to studying the intersection of narrative and medicine as a lens through which we can extract empathy in the clinical encounter and be more
compassionate providers. In her free time, she can be found hosting narrative medicine workshops for physicians or patients, hiking in the Wasatch mountains with her Australian Shepherd puppy, or skiing her favorite secret stashes of powder at Snowbird. She has her Master of Science in Narrative Medicine and is very excited to join the University of Utah School of Medicine Class of 2027 next year.
